A neighbor who to me represented the real American; and I asked him to pose for me, that I might immortalize him. He too was a man who relied on his own opinions. Though innately gentle, he radiated self-assurance and that unbridled American power that made this Civilization. He is of the type of man that created the pre-Roosevelt America, when nobility of motivation and Common Sense stirred citizens to do Errands for Divine Providence, without the need of higher education.
